It is not easy to find real authentic kolo mee in Singapore. Some stalls claim theirs to be kolo mee but the noodle texture is more like the normal wanton mee than kolo mee. I am super excited to be able to try out this noodle stall, tucked away in a very ulu corner of a Jurong East coffeeshop or Toh Guan to be specific.

This was my second visit and the queue was still rather short considering the proximity to lunctime hour. Well, it could be due to the remote location and I went there during weekdays. As for weekend, it is a totally different story as you can see below.

There are $4 or $5 portion and they have different colours (Red/black/White) of the noodle which I was not familiar with so I went with the original.

For $4, the servings of the char siew, minced meat and noodle was really generous. The minced meat was seasoned so was very flavourful. I tasted more lean meat than fats. The noodle texture was dry and springy which tasted very authentic. I would say this got to be one of the best (if not the best) in Singapore. The dryness makes it idea for takeaway too as the noodle will not be soggy by the time you reach home unlike the traditional wanton mee. Definitely a good takeaway choice especially for noodles and one of my favourite.

The stall opens from 8.30am to 5/6pm daily. The address is:

267A Toh Guan Rd, Singapore 601267
