There is something about the name of this steakhouse that makes it so difficult to remember. I lost count of the number of times i had to google to recall the name. My friend and I decided to try this restaurant since the review is so good. Read many comments that it is one of the best steak in town. We went full on carnivore this time with no frills or fancy side dishes, with the exception of the appetizer.

Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is located along Mohamed Sultan road which is the stretch where it was a super popular clubbing street years ago. The Mohamed Sultan road is a pale shadow of what it was before. I suppose only Gen X folks would know this.

We straightaway ordered the 1.1kg Florentina T-bone steak to be shared by two the moment we sat down. As it will take at least 30 minutes to be cooked, we started off with the Sulami Platter with some Malbec red wine to go along while waiting. Red wine goes really well with the cold cuts. The cold cuts consist of prosciutto di parma, morcon iberico, finocchiona, smoked coppa and some olives. Out of which i am only familiar with Parma and olive. I think it is worth to know the difference in the cold cuts to better appreciate the difference while i have to admit i had always taken for granted. Well, I have made it a point to do that next time especially with the cold cuts. With that we just need to sit back and enjoy the cold cuts with wine while chatting away.

Not long after the main actor arrived and it did not even feel like a 30 minutes wait. 1.1kg for two seems like alot but this included the bone so the meat alone could be about 800-900 grams. This from a Australia Wagyu grain fed for 420+ days cattle which also means it has some marbling fats in it. This is still alot even for 2 adults male. This may seem meat overdose but it taste so good that it still feels quite alright. The outer layer is charred nicely and not burnt while the meat is juicy and tender. Some parts are a little more chewy but it is cooked evenly overall considering it is a huge piece of meat.

We asked for medium rare which was done almost to perfection. You can see the pinkness pretty evenly throughout the whole piece of the meat. What an impressive sight!

We were so stuffed that we do not have any more space in our stomach for the desserts. Total damage is $344.86 for two which we feel pretty worth it considering the quality. As we visited this restaurant in October which is still under phase 2 of the circuit breaker in Singapore, it is almost full house with no special promotion (at least not that we are aware of). Therefore, i think it is safe to say the restaurant will be around for a while. Definitely one of the best steak I have tried. This is only our second steakhouse hunting specialty (first was the Woolomoloo) so more to come i hope.
