I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Croatia in March which was during Spring. I must admit I do not know much about Croatia except that it was part of the messy conflict in the 90s and Luka Modric. Luka was best known for his distinctive headband and of course his soccer skills.

The city I visited was Split which sits along the Mediterranean sea (kind of but the Adriatic Sea to be exact). I always love the Mediterranean for the sun and sea, also the houses are always painted bright and cheerful. The weather during this period was also pretty good. Ranged between 20 deg in the day to perhaps less than 10 deg at night.

Raddison Blu Resort and Spa in Split was the hotel i stayed which is fantastic. Hotel is surprisingly modern, clean and nicely decorated.

I even have a balcony overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Check out the sea view.

This is the Klis fortress and where some of the scenes of the Games of Thrones were filmed. Unfortunately, I missed that scene as I only started watching Games of Thrones at the later seasons as I thought the beginning was a little boring. Little did I know that the ending was worst. One of the most anti-climax ending ever which I am pretty sure I am not alone.

You will get to see a great panoramic view from the fortress.

Spotted a single sakura tree.

I also went to the old city and saw the Diocletian Palace where the Roman emperor Diocletian retired in the third century. Diocletian was born in Croatia.

This was a very short stay as I was there for a conference so I did not get much time to roam around, in fact only half a morning. Not sure If i will ever come back here again but at least I can put a tick in the checkbox.
