There is always a wanton mee stall at any hawker center but not all is good. I managed to discover another gem of a Wanton Mee recently. This is the Kim Huat Wanton Mee at Bukit Merah View Food Center.
Immediately you know it is very popular just from the length of the queue. Due to social distancing, queues are nowsaday very misleading as you need to stand one meter apart. This inevitably made the queue look longer than usual.
After a long wait of about 20-30 minutes, I finally get to taste the wanton mee. Well, it certainly did not disappoint. The noodle is springy or QQ though a little hard but i liked it. The sauce and the char siew is also tasty. I like it but I am not sure if i will queue again next time. It may not be the best but definitely deserved its place among the top few.
I went there during lunch time on a Saturday so it was very crowded and car park was congested. A fight nearly broke out between a pedestrian and a driver. It is not exactly a totally pleasant experience as i am no fan of crowds. You can see long queues at many stalls which is another evidence of the many good food there. Perhaps I will come again but during the off-peak hours.
