It has been more than 3 years since i last went to Sydney. If i felt then that it had become more cosmopolitan in the past, the feeling this trip is even stronger. There are indeed many different races in Sydney and I believed not all are tourist as they were dressed in office wear.
Weather during this time is a little bit cold but comfortable at between 12-18 degrees. There are quite a lot of things going for Sydney. You have the historical buildings, famous landmark, great weather, great diversity, vibrancy, good food, etc.
This is one of my favourite place, the Queen Victoria Building. It was completed in 1898 and it is still very well preserved. There are also a very interesting variety of retail stores selling all sorts of things from cafes, toys, F&B to fashion boutiques.
The Westin Sydney is a great hotel to stay in Sydney. It is very well located in the CBD and withing walking distance to QVB, Darling Harbor and The rock. They managed to preserve the old Sydney Post Office and creatively integrate a hotel into the original building. You can still see the old building on the facade and interior of the hotel. It looks similar to the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore (which was also a post office) and no wonder it is to be re-branded to Fullerton by Oct of 2019.
A comfortable 15-20 mins walk will get you to the Rock and you easily spend another few hours exploring the whole area. This part of Sydney makes a very good walk as it is very scenic with the view of the Harbor, Harbor Bridge and the very iconic Opera House.
It is just a 10 mins walk to Darling Harbor, another beautiful place for a walk and scenic pictures.
This is the other thing i love about Sydney. It is bicycle friendly where they even cater two cycling lanes for the bicycle. Such simple thought will encourage more cyclist as an exclusive cycling lane is safe for the cyclist.
Sydney is a city that is hard to get bored and there are still several places i that I have not explored such as the parks, museum, musicals etc. I should be back again next year for business and will be looking forward for the trip.
