Shopping for a MPV part 1

Spread the love
Read Time:1 Minute, 51 Second
I have always wanted to buy a MPV especially now that my family has grown. The recent Ipoh/Cameron trip has further increased the need to upgrade my car. Can you imagine squeezing 6 person (4 adults 2 child) into a saloon car all the way to there and back? I have since started my search for my next car. Will share my findings with all. I have decided to do some serious study for once for my next car and compare other similar MPVs.

The first stop is Honda. Odyssey has always been my favourite MPV due to its design. However, they have done a major facelift and it now looks like a previa. Well, the upside is that it is really roomy. It does looks big and intimidating.

This is the 7 seater luxurious version. With this new design, you can now access the 3rd row via the center divider of the 2nd row.
The 3rd row is surprisingly roomy. Enough leg room even for my 1.8M tall frame.

Then what about the trunk? of course, when you fold the 3rd row, you can put in a lot of things. It becomes like a pickup and you can stuff a few golf clubs easily. Even when the 3rd row is not folded, it still can stuff a few cabin size luggage. Salesman says 5 but maybe 4 to be more conservative.

This is the driver seat. It is paddle shift, cruise control, sunroof, GPS, video camera and probably hundred other hardly used features. One great feature is the parking assist. It can auto park your car either reverse or parallel parking. That’s probably a big thumbs up for my wife as she can’t do either. One issue with the park assist is that you need to step on the brake all the time for control and follow some instructions (forward gear or reverse gear). Feels like learning a programming language. Yes, it is not total auto park at a touch of a button. Not sure if other auto park features are similar. To me, i feel that it is easier if i park it manually.
