The Nepal Earthquake

Just came back from Nepal and devastation can be seen everywhere along the streets. We were told that kathmandu is already considered not too bad compared to other more remote places.

Kathmandu has become a tent city where you see tents sprouting up everywhere.

This famous tower collapsed after the earthquake and was said to have around 200 people in it when it happened.

We heard from the locals that many things were sent there. However, they are not in need of everything and do not unload all your used items like clothes, toys etc. Best thing to do is ask what is needed most. The most commonly heard things are tarpaulin, dried food and water purification tablets. This is mainly for the remote areas as kathmandu is pretty much back to normal.
