I have only ski once in Korea at Vivaldi park which was a last minute thing as Alpensia Pyeongchang was closed then for the winter Olympics. Now that I am back in korea during the winter season, I made an effort to try skiing here. The journey here takes about 3 hours and we took the bus service from Myeongdong station at 8am. There are other choices of pickup and you can find the site here.
I stayed at Hotel Intercontinental and the bus will drop you off at Holiday Inn Alpensia which is just 2-3 minutes walk away.
I was rather surprised that the ski slopes is so near to the resort. If you stay at the Holiday Inn Resort, then it is just downstairs and they have rooms that is facing the ski slopes. That is really cool as when you are tired, you can just go up to the room and take a few minutes break. Otherwise you can also just pop by any of the many cafes or restaurants in the mini town. This is better than Vivaldi in my opinion as i recalled that it is quite a distance walk away and with very limited choices. When you are in your ski gear, it is very troublesome to bring the stuffs too far or do the robotic walk in the ski boots.
This is just a short weekend trip but it is definitely worth the time and effort to get there. I might consider to do the same again if i go to Seoul again during winter :).
