I finally tried the Jamie’s Italian restaurant located at vivo city. The ambience is pretty good but the waiting time is really long. We waited for about 45 mins. It is not as bad as we were working on our notebooks and having some wine while waiting.

We tried the wagyu burger and the pink snapper which happens to be one of the most popular dishes. The pink snapper is quite decent though i felt it tasted a bit bland. This is probably the first time i have a whole fish in a western restaurant. Usually it is a piece of seabass or cod fish cooked in similar fashion. Whole fish in chines restaurant is a common thing of course. The wagyu gives a stronger flavour. It definitely taste better than MacDonalds (i know not fair to compare with Mac) but that’s about the closest comparison i can draw. I never ordered any other burgers in any restaurant before.

I think this restaurant tries to bring quality italian food to the masses so they try to position it family friendly and not fine dining. Will i come again? Yeah sure but not again if I need to wait another 45 mins now that I have tried and the hype is no longer there. Is it worth a 45 mins wait? Definitely not. I rather wait 45 mins for a plate of famous chay kway teow.
