This is another great discovery but more at the north of Singapore, Toa Payoh. Chef Kang’s Noodle House is strangely tucked in a quiet corner of in industrial complex consisting of several buildings. I would say if it is not for the awful location, this would surely be a lot more crowded. For sure, one of the best wanton mee in Singapore.
I went close to lunchtime and there were only 2-3 people at the queue.
The noodle indeed did not disappoint. It was springy and has a very good texture to it though it is a little bit softer that Lai Fa Ba Wanton Mee. I prefers the harder version but it is still way above the normal standard. The char siew is also very fragrant and tasty though rather fatty plus generous serving of pork lards.
The good thing about the obscure location is that it is great for people for drives. It is easy parking and not crowded so I will definitely be back next time I head to the north.
