One’s trip can be easily ruined by bad taxi drivers who rip you off with super inflated rates. I am sure many has also similar experience in especially Malaysia. It is no doubt having one of the worst taxi drivers in Asia. I been to many places in Asia and i confirmed that it is the worst. I am not the only who said that. According to Londoncab website, it is the worst in the world. Taxi drivers are quite important group of people as they are the gateway to everyday people of the country or the unofficial ambassadors. It can easily ruined the image that a country tried so hard to build.

However, i come with a solution. It is an app called MyTeksi. Available in both iphone and Android. I have tried in recently and it works perfectly.

You can choose your current location and then the destination.

You will then see all the taxis in the vicinity and they will respond if they want to pick you up.

The taxi number will be shown and it will also tell you how far are they from you.

If for whatever reasons you can see them, you can even give them a call.

I have used this app to call for a taxi and it works perfectly. Used it about 5 times and the taxi arrives everytime and i paid by meter (no longer RM40 everywhere i go). You do have to pay about RM1.60 extra if i am not wrong. I rather pay this RM1.60 then be ripped off big time. Great app and solution to fight against dishonest taxi drivers. Highly recommended.
